Ostara Ceramics

Welcome to Ostara Ceramics, a collection of individually sculpted ceramic animals and figurative works, each with its own character, expression and story.

My approach to sculpture is intuitive. Although I may begin with a familiar form, I enjoy allowing each piece to develop its own personality as I work. A subtle tilt of the head, an unexpected expression or a particular texture can completely change the character of a sculpture. It's this individuality that I find so fascinating.

Nature and the animal world have always been a source of inspiration, particularly the hare, which has become something of a signature in my work. My sculptures often combine gentle humour, quiet contemplation and a slightly mysterious quality.

I enjoy exploring the relationship between form, texture and surface, using contrasting matte and glossy glazes, subtle colour variations and occasional touches of gold to bring each piece to life.

Every sculpture is made individually by hand, with its own distinctive character. No two are ever quite the same.

Where to Find My Work

My sculptures are currently available at selected ceramic fairs and exhibitions, where they are displayed alongside Andrew Richards Ceramics.

I am also developing Louise Ostara Art, a new independent online collection featuring original sculptures created especially for purchasing directly through my website.

The online shop is coming in the future, and I look forward to sharing this next chapter of my work.
