Discover our unique ceramic sculptures, available for purchase at upcoming events alongside the exquisite pottery handcrafted by my husband, Andrew Richards of Andrew Richards Ceramics. Although I’ll be busy sculpting in my workshop and can’t attend in person, Andrew will be there to showcase my creations alongside his own exquisite collection of handmade pottery. From elegant cookware to timeless tableware, his pieces are sure to impress. Be sure to catch him in action at the Great British Food Festivals & The Foodies as he demonstrates his remarkable skill on the potter’s wheel—it’s a performance you won’t want to miss!
Andrew Richards Ceramics

I approach the creation of my vessels with energy and spontaneity, focusing on shaping the form and refining its surfaces throughout the making and drying process. By applying slips and oxides, I transform the surface, while the layering of materials highlights the plasticity and tactile qualities of the clay, evoking the essence of a landscape.
My work pushes the boundaries of traditional pottery, aiming to elevate clay into the realm of abstract sculptural art. Whether starting with wheel-thrown or hand-built forms, I use the potter's wheel to shape and refine the external surface of each piece.
Though I often begin with a vision of the vessel's final form, the true character emerges through meticulous manipulation. By altering the surface with clastic sedimentary stones and oxides, I derive textures and patterns inspired by the rugged beauty of the Welsh landscape and coastline, as reflected in my Earth series.
The use of 200-million-year-old clastic sedimentary stones, beach quartz, granite, brushed and layered Anglesey copper, and glazes creates unique color and textural effects. Each layer is carefully applied to harmonize with the vessel, ensuring every piece is a distinctive, one-of-a-kind creation.
I am continuously inspired by the natural world, collecting rocks, sedimentary stones, oxides, and fossils from various regions across the UK. These materials will be incorporated into my upcoming work, resulting in pottery sculptures that are deeply connected to the landscapes of Britain, Scotland, and Wales.
